Provisional list for this years Secondary Schools All Ireland Finals in Gonzaga college, on Sunday 15th April 2018.
Draft Rules :
- Touch move applies in all games.
- Press timer using the same hand you’ve used to make the move.
- All mobiles to be switched off.
- All games start at the same time.
- There’s no talking / commenting while games are in progress.
- If a player has any question / issue, they should pause their chess clock & ask the arbiter for assistance.
- Every game counts to the final result .. the team with the most “game” points will be the winners.
- Every game won earns 1 point for the winners team. It is possible to score a maximum of 6 points for each round of the competition.
- If there are an odd number of teams, then a team that is given a “bye” will be awarded 4 pts for this match.
- If teams are on the same points at the end of the event, there will be a blitz play-off. If still a tie we will eliminate the result of the bottom board until there is a decisive result.
- Loosing / winning on time. When a players clock goes to zero they will loose the game. Except when their opponent does not have mating material.
