He was born in Cuba and played a lot of his adult chess in New York. One excellent book, read by all masters today is Irving Chernev’s .. Capablanca’s best endings. This is a must read book !! Emanuel Lasker once said: “I have known many chess players, but only one chess genius: Capablanca.”
