The idea of the monthly competitions is to give the top players in each school a chance to meet and play other strong players from around Galway.
Most schools will have one or two top players who can’t improve unless they have stronger opponents .. plus younger and improver kids get a tournament experience and meet new children with a similar interest.
Events are quite competitive but there is also a nice social element too.
